With the recent discovery of the Asian Longhorned Tick (ALHT) in southeast Iowa, the threat of Theileriosis is on the rise. This protozoan parasite infects red and white blood cells, leading to anemia and death in some cases, and is carried by the ALHT. To offer additional information and resources, ICA is hosting a brief, complimentary webinar.
In the webinar, we'll cover:
- The background and what we know about the ALHT and Theileriosis
- The potential impacts on cattle and transmission
- Best practices for prevention
- Caring and treatment
- What's next: latest research
- Question and answer discussion
Join ICA and our guest presenter, Dr. Cassandra Olds, an assistant professor in the Department of Entomology at Kansas State University.
