The Iowa Cattlemen's Association recently hosted the first Policy Summit. This one-day event brought together ICA members to discuss and vote on expiring and new policy recommendations. Thank you to all the producers and guests who invested their time in joining us for the Policy Summit and contributing to this important association work.
The Policy Summit featured three engaging speakers and dedicated time for each of ICA's policy committees: Beef Products, Cattle Production, and Business Issues.
The policy development that took place during the Policy Summit, which had previously been done at the Iowa Cattle Industry Convention in past years, allowed for policy to be reviewed in depth by committees in advance, created a dedicated day and additional time for policy conversations, and framed up the discussions our government relations team can have with legislators earlier and more effectively. All of the policy recommendations from the Policy Summit will be brought forward at ICA's Annual Meeting (December 16) for ratification by ICA's membership.
We look forward to continuing this momentum and evolving our policy development process.
