The Iowa Cattlemen's Association program to develop leadership qualities in young cattle farmers is accepting applications for the 2013 program.
This ICA leadership program consists of a series of educational sessions designed to develop leadership qualities in young cattle farmers. ICA intends to have action packed agendas for each session that touch on key beef cattle industry topics as well as to enhance leadership skills.
Here is a link to the application form for the ICA Young Cattlemen’s Leadership Program. (Please feel free to share with others!) You can either fill it out electronically or print and fill out by hand. Applications need to be submitted Friday, February 15.
The costs to attend essentially are your time and travel. Once at the sessions, hotels, food, etc. are covered by ICA sponsors.

• Session 1, March 19 and 20 (Ames/Des Moines)
o Iowa Beef Cattle Industry Organizations Orientation
o Legislative, Iowa Capitol, Governor and Key Agency Visits
• Session 2, April 23 and 24 (Des Moines)
o Beef Industry Production, Efficiency, Technology and Leadership Development
o Cattlemen at the Capitol Day
• Mid-Summer Communication Connection/Activity, June 12 (Encouraged to attend but not a specific program session.)
• Session 3, September 4 and 5 or the week following (program participants will determine which dates work best)
o Business Considerations for Succession Planning Leadership Engagement
o Continued-Production Education and Legislative Education
• Session 4, December 9, 10 and 11 (Altoona)
o Iowa Cattlemen’s Association Convention and Annual Meeting
