Title: CattleFax, BQA offer free opportunities

Two opportunities to try products that can improve profitability for cattle producers were announced the first week of February during the National Cattle Industry Convention in Nashville, TN.

Through the end of February, CattleFax is offering unlimited access to its CattleFax app. The app provides real-time information on markets, weather and industry trends. This powerful combination of business, cattle and operational management information makes the app a must-have for producers and industry members.

CattleFax is an information organization serving producers in all segments of the cattle business.

The smartphone and tablet application is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The latest update is optimized for Apple iOS7 users – including an enhanced layout and design. The mobile application features a new affiliates section with information from Superior Livestock Auction, Kansas Livestock Association and the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association.

Futures markets continue to be the most frequently used section of the application, and users will notice enhanced charting ability for individual futures contract prices.

“Cattle producers do not have the time to sit in front of a computer to dissect the markets,” said Randy Blach, CEO, CattleFax. “They make decisions on the go, and the CattleFax Mobile App makes it easier for cattle producers to access timely market prices, news, analysis and research.

As part of this promotion, CattleFax is also offering new members an opportunity to purchase a two-year membership for the price of a one-year membership.

Free BQA certification

The second opportunity is to become BQA (Beef Quality Assurance) Certified through an online course at from Feb. 6-April 15. Boehringer Ingelheim is covering the cost for the training-which is usually $25 to $50 per person. Use the code  BIVIBQA for your payment method as you register. Upon registering for the training, complete Beef Quality Assurance-Cattle Care module or one of the other 18 available.
