ICA Political Action Committee Trap and Skeet Shoot scheduled for July
AMES, IOWA – The Iowa Cattlemen’s Association’s Political Action Committee (PAC) is making their target the 2016 election. The first ever PAC exclusive event will take place at Highland Hideaway Hunting, 3127 160th Street in Riverside, IA on Saturday, July 11.
Since the reinstatement of the ICA PAC in August, 2012, almost $50,000 has been raised for statewide offices and legislative candidates. This past election cycle, the ICA PAC boasted a 93% election success rate for the candidates they supported. These state legislators supported issues that mattered to cattlemen during the 2015 legislative session. Bills that protected the hunting status of mountain lions and restricted hauling manure on snow-covered and frozen ground were killed early in the session, due to Iowa legislators supporting Iowa Cattlemen’s Association policy.
Sharp shooters and industry supporters will gather at Highland Hideaway hunting for an afternoon exercising their second amendment rights. Registration will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Participants will then work their way through ten interactive target stations with a team of four shooters, or as an individual. Starting at 6 p.m., a steak dinner will be held with Iowa legislators at the lodge. Those in attendance will be entered for a chance to win a new shotgun as well as other event door prizes.
Individual shooter tickets are $100, providing access to 100 targets, 100 shells and a ticket to the ribeye steak dinner. Additional meal tickets are available for purchase at $50. Those interested in attending can visit the ICA webpage at www.iacattlemen.org/politicalactioncommittee.aspx to download a registration form. ICA is requesting that all checks are made payable to the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association PAC. Corporate checks, including farm LLC’s are not acceptable under Iowa law. Event registration forms and payment can be sent to: Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, c/o: Justine Stevenson, 2055 Ironwood Ct, Ames, IA 50014 or faxed to 515-296-2261.
