Iowa Cattlemen’s Association members will gather at the Capitol on April 18th to connect with legislators and discuss the issues that impact their operations. This annual event plays a key role in relating cattle industry issues to elected representatives and communicating the importance of protecting agriculture in state law. Though the ICA is represented at the Capitol daily by contracted lobbyists and ICA staff, this event provides an opportunity for legislators to hear directly from their constituents.

At 10 am, attendees will begin the day in the Wallace Building Auditorium with a presentation on current legislative topics before going to the Capitol to meet with their own legislators. With appropriations bills likely to be on the agenda at the Capitol in April, all ICA members are encouraged to attend and weigh-in.

At 11 am, a brisket lunch will be served by local youth beef team members, giving ICA members an opportunity to fellowship with lawmakers and fellow Iowans and advocate for the cattle industry. At 1 pm the ICA Board of Directors will meet in the Wallace building for the March Board Meeting.

All ICA members are encouraged to attend and wear their hats and boots for a day of connecting at the Capitol.
